What Bra to Wear With High Neck Halter Dress
In lieu of a styling a specific trend, this month's Stylish Monday participants have opted to share their interpretation of a spring style of their chosing, and for me, it's the halter dress.
A halter dress typically describes a backless dress that is secured at the back of the neck and the waistline, highlighting your shoulders and back. Traditionally worn as summer clothing or evening wear, this is my favorite neckline to wear. An incredibly flattering silhouette, many women shy away from this style; not knowing what type of bra or support works best, under this style of dress/top.
Backless Dresses
Option 1: Braless
Backless dresses like the one I am wearing today are designed to offer light support and can be worn without a bra. If you'd like a little "lift", consider trying sticky push-up pads (also can be inserted in your bra or swimsuit for extra lift).
Option 2: Nipple Covers
Available in light, medium or dark to match your breast color, these reusable adhesive nipple covers covers have excellent reviews.
Option 3. Adhesive Bra
Though I have girlfriends that have used the adhesive bra, I personally have not had much luck with this solution. I've tried multiple versions, from Target to pricier brands from Nordstrom, and have never been able to achieve the right amount of support or comfort that I was hoping for.
Partial Backless/Strapless/One Shoulder Dresses
Breast support options if your dress isn't backless; include the halter bralette, convertible halter bra or strapless bra.
Option 4: Strapless/Convertible Bra
I've searched high and low for a convertible/strapless that not only stays up, but is not too uncomfortable, and found the Sexy Illusions Strapless Bra by Victorias Secret to be a winner, due to it's exclusive non-slip cups & band technology, that keeps your bra in place all day long.
This bra comes with convertible straps that can be worn as halter, one strap (great for one shoulder styles) or cross back.
Option 5: Halter Bralette
When I think of beautiful (and creative) bralettes, my mind immediately goes to Free People. And as beautiful as they may be, FP bralettes tend to offer very little support and can be pricey. I have found quite a few options, at great prices, like this lace halter bra, at Amazon. Available in 2-pack or single, I like that this style offers an adjustable hook and eye closure and some support.
The Dress
I rarely purchase multiples, but I do own this dress in 3 prints. The "Magic Dress" by Karma Highway, I've only been able to locate this brand in beach resort areas like Newport Beach and Santa Barbara. That said, I have seen this dress available for re-sale on second hand market sites like Poshmark. Completely backless, I go braless or attach sticky push-up pads, as the styling of the dress does offer some support. I love to pair this dress with a kimono, jean jacket or cardigan as an extra layer. Add a fedora or straw hat, straw bag and any style of sandal – flat to platform, and you're ready for anywhere summer may take you. A dress like this travels well, as it can be rolled up into a ball, and tossed into a suitcase or your beach tote, for an easy beach to cocktails look.

The current spring 2022 trends include: pleats, bright colors, halter neckline, statement suits or cutouts. Additionally, feathers and wearing bras as a top are trending! You know my mantra: Wear what you love or what speaks to you and you'll always look great! Can you guess which of these appeal to me the most? Hop over to my blog to see if you guessed correctly!
Nancy – Nancy's Fashion Style
It has to be tiered dresses. I already bought last year several and I am still very much in love with this design. In fact I already ordered a few more! These two are my favourites from last year. I actually like it better to wear them without a belt, but these two are very bulky. They would have been perfect if there were pockets in it. I will show my latests tiered dresses soon on the blog!
Amy – Amy's Creative Pursuits
As a Wisconsin Gal, every spring we have to deal with frigid temperatures, leaving me in quite the conundrum as I want to wear spring clothes but I can't. How do I solve the problem? By wearing bright colors in warm winter fabrics.
Shelbee – Shelbee on the Edge
Bra tops and bell bottoms are two trends together that appeal to my hippie soul. I found these amazing embroidered bell bottoms and the coordinating fringe cardigan at Indigo Sun , a funky little bohemian boutique we visited in Asheville on my recent road trip adventure. And now I am officially ready for festival season!
Nicole – High Latitude Style
The trend to invest in this year is fringes if your personal style is Bohemian or Rock'n Roll. This is due to fringes being a perennial trend. Even if your personal style is not one of the two, a fringe clutch may be worth it when your most frequent travel destination is a beach resort. It's perfect with a beach dress or resort style.

Bright colours make my heart sing and I'm in complete dopamine styling mode when I see the Spring sunshine. Is it just me or are other Northern girls itching to pull out the sandals (even if only for a photo moment)?
A big thank you for stopping by to check out our looks, and now we want to see what YOU are wearing and talking about this Spring!
